Innovating STEM Education

Welcome to Connected Curriculum, where we aim to support innovation in STEM education for school-aged children.

STEM – or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – defines a field of learning that is viewed in many different ways. At Connected Curriculum, we consider STEM to be an integrative and connected way of approaching learning and thinking. Learning in STEM equips students with knowledge and skills from each discipline. The connected approach that we promote involves coordinating the knowledge and skills from across the STEM disciplines, so that learners engage in activities that involve them considering the world around them, identifying challenges or problems, and then undertaking activities to generate solutions, all the while developing skills in communication, collaboration and self-management. We refer to our unique approach to learning in STEM as challenge-centred learning.

At Connected Curriculum we collaborate with teachers and others involved in STEM education to support the innovative development of connected STEM pedagogy and curriculum resources that can be used with primary and secondary school aged learners.

Please take some time to further understand what we define STEM education to be about, why we think it is important, how we go about innovating in STEM education, who we are and our credentials for doing this, and how you can contact us to collaborate on innovating STEM education.
